For many modern couples, the idea of a single-sex engagement party involving strippers and copious amounts of alcohol seems old fashioned and unaligned with their values. Instead, consider bringing all of their joint friends together for a day of fun and frivolity to celebrate the coming nuptials. Here are some ideas for high-energy fun for all your guests.
Go karts make for a fun day out and can be a great way to burn off some competitive energy. They can also encourage people to stay sober even if you have some folks who are tempted to imbibe, as most of the time you won't be allowed behind the wheel if you've been drinking. You can form teams between the bride's and groom's friends, or between friends and relatives. It's a great way to hang out, and the activity gives everyone something to talk about. It's also a non-contact sport, which can be a good way to even out any size differentials between burly guys and more petite gals. It's a great option if you have some fitter friends and some less fitter friends as the karts 'even out the playing field' of any competition.
Another fun and competitive activity is paintball, which is a great exercise for a fit group of friends. You can come up with teams with an even mix between the taller and faster members of your friendship group and the shorter and slower friends if you want to give everyone a chance of winning. Paintball can leave fairly noticeable bruises, so make sure that you leave a fair bit of time between the engagement party and the ceremony so that the bridesmaids don't appear with huge bruises!
Stand-up paddle boarding
Stand-up paddle boarding is also a fun way to burn off some energy in a non-contact and non-competitive way. Everyone can join in and your group can even try some fun options like a stand-up paddle boarding session. It does require a fair degree of fitness and balance, so it is best suited to a fit group of guests.
As you can see, there is a range of high energy and enjoyable option for a modern co-ed engagement party. Don't be afraid to think outside the box and plan something a little different for your engagement party. It's a great way to bring friends and family together to help enjoy the imminent wedding while getting to know each other more.Share
